True Beauty-A Mandisa Perspective

To all my sisters...TRUE beauty isn’t what we see on the outside. I believe real beauty doesn't come from our outward appearance, but from the inward beauty that’s developed from a relationship with the Lord. That's what Peter said in the third chapter of his first book. And as someone who just celebrated a birthday and is quickly creeping closer and closer to the top of an infamous "hill," I particularly love verse 4 of that chapter. In it, Peter says that beauty, "should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." Can I get a witness on the "unfading" part? LOL! As we age and wrinkles, gray hair and Shrek eyes increase, cultivating a relationship with our Father gives women of God an intangible beauty that won't fade away, but grows more radiant day by day! Hallelujah!

  1. The value of a quiet spirit is priceless. I'm trying to get there but sometimes that old self just gets so loud.
